RESEARCH INTERESTS AND ACTIVITIES
- Design of digital communication systems, adaptive signal processing, iterative detection techniques for channels with memory, channel coding, and information theory. From 2003, Leader of the SPADiC (Signal Processing for Advanced Digital Communications) Group (http://www.spadic.unipr.it) at the University of Parma. PUBLICATIONS AND OTHER ACHIEVEMENTS
He is coauthor of the book "Detection Algorithms for Wireless Communications", (John Wiley & Sons, August 2004, ISBN: 0-470-85828-1) and of the book "Wireless Communications: Algorithmic Techniques", (John Wiley & Sons. August 2013. ISBN: 0-470-51239-3), of more than 100 papers in leading international journals (9 invited), of more than 150 papers in international conference proceedings (12 invited), and 22 industrial patents. He also delivered many invited lectures and seminars at Universities and research centers in Europe and USA and invited tutorials at international conferences. He received the best paper award at the 13th International Conference on Software, Telecommunications and Computer Networks (SoftCOM'05), Split, Croatia, September 2005, the best paper award for Optical Networks and Systems at the IEEE International Conference on Communcations (ICC 2008), Beijing, China, May 2008, and the best paper award at the 5th Advanced Satellite Mobile Systems Conference and 11th International Workshop on Signal Processing for Space Communications (ASMS&SPSC 2010), Cagliari, Italy, September 2010.
