Monia Savi is Associate Professor of Physiology (SSD BIOS-06/A, formerly BIO/09) at the Department of Chemistry, Life Sciences and Environmental Sustainability, University of Parma, Unit of Evolutionary and Functional Biology, Laboratory of Cardiac Pathophysiology.

Academic Education

PhD in Systemic Pathophysiology (SSD BIO/09), University of Parma, with a dissertation on cardiac electromechanical performance in myocardial infarction models treated with regenerative approaches.

National Scientific Qualification as Associate Professor – Sector 05/D1 Physiology.

Degree in Biological Sciences (pathophysiological curriculum), University of Parma, with honors.

Professional qualification to practice as Biologist.

Protective effects of natural polyphenolic compounds and synthetic chemicals on prevention and treatment of diabetic cardiomyopathy and cardiovascular diseases – studying their mechanisms of action. II. Morpho-functional remodeling and regenerative processes of ventricular myocardium, in myocardial infarction, diabetic cardiomyopathy and cardiomyopathy induced by anticancer drugs. III. Cardiac effects of acute and chronic exposure to different nanoparticles: electromechanical and cytotoxic characterization. IV. Tissue, cellular and molecular mechanisms of cardiac arrhythmogenesis. V. Cellular and molecular effects of antiarrhythmic drugs.
