She graduated in 2014 in Environmental Engineering at the University of Parma. In 2018, she received a PhD in Civil Engineering and Architecture from the University of Parma with a thesis on the development and application of numerical models for flood propagation.

She is currently a fixed-term researcher at the Department of Engineering and Architecture of the University of Parma, after postdoctoral fellowships. Her research interests include the development of numerical models for flood propagation, urban inundations, the reconstruction of real floods, the characterization of hydrological events, and the modelling of flood scenarios induced by bank and dam failures.

She received the Evangelista Torricelli Award in 2023 and the L'Oréal-UNESCO "For Women in Science" Young Talents Italia Award in 2025.
