Full Professor of International Law, Department of Law, Politics and International Studies of the University of Parma since 2001. Author of two monographs (respectively on the protection of the Antarctic environment and on the UN peaceeping operations) and of various articles and books chapters; editor of a number of volumes, published in Italy and abroad. Main areas of interest: international environmental law; human rights protection; UN peace-keeping operations; conservation of cultural heritage. Director of Summer Seminars in Public International Law, Hague Academy of International Law in 2015; member of the Council Board of the Italian Society of International Law (2009-2015); member of the Scientific Board of the scientific review: Diritti Umani e Diritto Internazionale since 2013. Academic assignments: Dean of the Faculty of Law (2009-2012); President of the Degree Courses in Law (2002-2009) and in Political Sciences (2013-2016); Director of the Second Level Master Degree in Health, Environment and Food: European Law and Risk Regulation (2017-2018); Director of  the Center for Studies in European and International Affairs of the University of Parma; member of the Council of the School of Advanced Studies in Food of Nutrition (University of Parma). European Grants: ACTIONES (2015-2017) and 2017-2019 e-NACT (2017-2019), EU Commission - DG Justice funded project; responsible for the University of Parma Unit (co-ordinator: European University Institute).
