From 01.09.1983 Assistant Professor in Veterinary Pathology.

Stages at foreign academic institutions
In 1985 stage on animal and comparative neuropathology at the Hiranatomisches Institut der Universität Bern, Switzerland.
In 1987 and 1998 Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology, New York State College of Veterinary Medicine, Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, USA.

Academic leadership position at the University of Parma
From 1996 to 2000 Delegate of the Rector for student mobility programs UE administrated by DG XII and DG XXII.
From 2003 to 2012 Coordinator of Erasmus student mobility at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
From March 2003 to October 2006 Chairman of the Board in Veterinary Medicine of Parma;
From November 2006 to July 2012 Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Parma. Position held before the closing by law (DM 240/2010) of the Faculty and its replacement with the Department.
From July 2012 to, December 2017 Head of the Department Veterinary Science and Director of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital.

Since 2008 diplomate of European College of Pig Health and Management" (ECPHM), confirmed in 2013.

On June 2001 Expert of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the project Veterinary Medicine in Qinghai, People's Republic of China.
