Academic Profile

Dr Deborah Beghè is an Associate Professor (SSD AGR/03 – General Arboriculture and Tree Crops) at the Department of Economic and Business Sciences, University of Parma.
She carries out research and teaching activities in the fields of physiology and biology of tree crops, valorisation of plant biodiversity, and sustainability of agricultural systems.

  • *Scientific Research Activity*

Research activity is carried out within the field of general arboriculture and tree crops, focusing on the physiological, anatomical and biotechnological aspects of plants. The main species studied include olive, pomegranate, chestnut, fig and hop.

Research topics include: characterisation, conservation and valorisation of plant and agricultural biodiversity; genetic improvement and clonal selection; study of abiotic stresses and ecophysiological responses of tree crops; floral biology and fruiting processes; population genetics and sustainability of agricultural systems.

Scientific activity is conducted within the framework of national and European research projects, with particular emphasis on the development of sustainable agricultural systems and the valorisation of plant genetic resources.

She participates, as a member of the University of Parma Research Unit, in several national and European research projects, including:
