Roberto PERRIS, born August 7, 1957 graduated in 1979 in Biological Sciences, at the University of Umeå, Sweden, received a Master Degree in Zoology in 1983 at the University of Uppsala, the PhD in Developmental Biology in 1987 and Docentship in Developmental Biology in 1994 at the same university; was elected member of the British Institute of Biology, UK in 1994 and has held the following positions after PhD: 1987-1992, Research Associate at the Developmental Biology Center, University of California Irvine; 1991-1995, Staff Scientist at the National Cancer Institute in Aviano - CRO-IRCCS; 1995-1998; Associate Professor at the University of Parma, Italy, 1998-2005; and Full Professor of Anatomy and Cell Biology at the same university 2005-present; Scientific Consultant at the National Tumour Institute of Aviano - CRO-IRCCS, 1999-2013; Director of the Centre for Molecular and Translational Oncology - COMT, University of Parma, 2009-present; member of 17 national and international scientific associations and is recurrently engaged as reviewer for 26 scientific journals and as grant application evaluator for several national and international funding institutions, including European Union; has been Principal Investigator for 64 research project funded by national and international institutions; Principal Investigator for 47 industrial cooperations; principal inventor in 3 patent filings; has delivered 53 invited seminars; has been engaged in 18 national and international conferences as session leader; has given 13 invited speeches at national and international conferences and has been main organizer and Chairman of one international conference; has been engaged as Scientific Consultant for 7 private companies; has been Tutor and or Supervisor for more than 390 pre-doctoral theses in Italy and abroad and for 32 PhD theses in 8 different PhD programs; teaches ground and advanced level courses on Cell Biology, Developmental Biology, Histology and Stem Cell Biology and Clinical Applications; the scientific production is documented through 116 peer-reviewed international publications, 3 peer-reviewed national publications, 7 publications in non-peer reviewed journals, 3 book chapters, and more than 390 oral or poster presentations at national and international meetings.
