Mario Veneziani is an Associate Professor in Agri-food Economics at the Department of Economics and Management, University of Parma, Parma (Italy). In this position, he teaches, in English, the “Economics of Agri-food Networks” Course to Third Year students as part of the "International Economics" track of the Bachelor’s Degree in “Economics and Business” (CLEM) at the Department of Economics and Management of the University of Parma and, in Italian, the Course of “Economic and Regulatory Aspects of Biotechnologies” to Third Year students of the Bachelor's Degree Course in “Biotechnologies” at the Department of Chemistry, Life Sciences and Environmental Sustainability of the University of Parma.

Mario Veneziani is a member of the International Mobility Commission of the Department of Economics and Management of the University of Parma. In this position, he is responsible for the exchanges with the Higher Education Institutions the University of Parma has exchange relationships with – under the OverWorld Programme (i.e., ERASMUS+ outside of Europe) – to the East of the Urals. He is a member of the Interdepartmental Center for Energy and the Environment of the University of Parma as the head of its "Economics" Operating Unit. Lastly, he has been appointed a Member of the "Board for the ethics of non-medical research on the person (REB - Research Ethics Board)" of the University of Parma as a member of the University Center of Bioethics at the University of Parma, Parma (Italy).

Mario Veneziani holds a PhD in Economic Policy, Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, Piacenza (Italy) and a Master of Arts in Development Economics, Department of Economics, University of Sussex, Falmer (UK). His research interests are multidisciplinary in nature ranging from Trade Liberalisation, Development Economics, Regional Economics, Migration, Poverty and Inequality; Education and Child Labour; Subjective Well Being and Wage Inequality – which have characterised his undergraduate and postgraduate education – to Agricultural Policy Modelling, using Farm-level Survey Data (RICA and FADN), micro-econometrics and Mathematical Programming, Analysis of Market Power in the Agri-Food Sector, Industrial Organisation, Revealed Preferences and Experimental Economics as well as Food Quality (Geographical Indications) and Sustainability, which have characterised his Post-Doc and early Non and Tenure-Track Positions.

Mario Veneziani has been involved, in various roles, in the European Union Horizon 2020 "AGRICORE" (Grant Agreement 816078) (https://agricore-project.eu/) and "Strength2Food" (Grant Agreement 678024) (https://www.strength2food.eu/) Projects, FP7 "Factor Markets" and "FADNTOOL" Projects and the “MEMI” EIB-EIBURS Project. He has contributed to the prepare several European Union and Italian research project proposals and has a strong publication record on the main international outlets for the research in his field.
