dal 2005 ad oggi tramite finanziamenti autonomamente recuperati il Prof. Ventura ha costituito un laboratorio, Laboratorio di Probiogenomica (www.probiogenomics.com) che si prefigge lo studio delle comunità microbiche (microbiota) e la loro interazione con l’uomo e gli animali, nonché la biologia dei microrganismi probiotici con particolare attenzione nell’ambito dei bifidobatteri e il loro ruolo nell’ecosistema intestinale.

QUALIFICAZIONI
1990 Si licenzia presso l’Istituto Tecnico Agrario “Stanga” di Cremona e si iscrive all’Università degli Studi di Piacenza.
1995 Si laurea in Scienze Agrarie con 110/110 con lode presso Università degli Studi di Piacenza.
1997 Ottiene il premio Gemelli per il miglior laureato della Facolta’ di Agraria a.a. 1995.
1995-1998 Ottiene una borsa di studio per frequentare l’Istituto di Microbiologia della Facoltà d’Agraria di Piacenza.
1999 Ricercatore presso il gruppo di microbiologia alimentare del “Nestlè Research Center”, Losanna, Svizzera.
2000-2003 Dottorato di ricerca presso il Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), Svizzera.
2003-2005 Ottiene una borsa Marie Curie come PostDoc Research Scientist presso il Department of Microbiology, National University of Ireland, Cork, Ireland.
2005 Rientra in Italia presso il Dipartimento di Genetica, Biologia dei Microrganismi, Antropologia, Evoluzione, Università degli Studi di Parma come Professore a contratto nell’ambito del programma Rientro dei Cervelli.
