Associate Professor of Management Accounting (SSD Economia Aziendale), he serves as Rector's Delegate for Internationalization in Asia and Oceania and as Associate Delegate for Brazil. He chairs the Rede Unida Committee (Brazil) and the International Mobility Committee (CMI) of the Department of Economics and Management, and is a member of the SELMA e-learning Center. He is one of the two academic members of the Regional Council for Cooperatives of the Emilia-Romagna Region.
His principal research interests lie in planning and control systems, the economics of information applied to business contexts, accounting education and the history of accounting.
His research has been published in national and international journals and monographs.
He is a member of Italian, North American and international academic associations, among them the Italian Academy of Accounting and Business Administration (SIDREA), the Italian Society of Accounting History (SISR), the Academy of Accounting Historians, the European Accounting Association, the International Association for Accounting Education and Research, and AECA.
His teaching activity has been carried out both at the University of Parma and at a number of European, North American, South American and Asian universities, in the capacity of Visiting Professor and Visiting Scholar, including Kwansei Gakuin University, Hyōgo, Japan, and Grenoble École de Management, Grenoble, France.
